Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
IN RECENT YEARS, the use of platelet rich plasma injections has gained significant media attention. The technology has been used by high performance athletes who require rapid recovery from sports related injuries.
The process involves collecting a blood sample. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge and the platelets are removed. This process separates the red blood cells from the platelets. Once removed, the concentrated platelets (PRP) are injected back into the client at the site of injury or irritation. The procedure is completed using ultrasound guidance. When injected, growth factors contained in the PRP initiates the body's natural healing process. Stimulation of the client's own healing response results in a reduction in pain, improved recovery time and improved function.
Clients who typically benefit from PRP include golfers with rotator cuff injuries, tennis players with elbow injuries and runners with plantar fasciitis. PRP has also been proven effective for tendon and ligament tears, and for those with joint arthritis.

Platelet Rich Plasma
"PRP allowed me to take part in my grandson's first year of life. Before PRP, I could not lift or hold him. PRP also allowed me to enjoy a full golf season. Needless to say, my quality of life is much improved. Thank you."
